Claude Opus 4.7 is out: what it changes for you

Anthropic launched Claude Opus 4.7 yesterday (April 16, 2026). It's the new version of Claude's most powerful model. Available everywhere: claude.ai, Claude Code, the API.

If you're an entrepreneur building with AI, here's what actually changes.

1. Self-verification

This is the most important new feature for you.

Before, when you asked Claude to build something complex (a website, an automation, a tool), it did the work and told you "done." Sometimes it was done. Sometimes there was a hidden bug.

With Opus 4.7, Claude checks its own work before handing it back to you. It re-reads what it produced, tests if it works, and fixes problems if it finds them.

In practice: fewer bugs, fewer "wait, that doesn't work" moments, less time debugging. When Claude says "done," it's more often actually done.

2. Better vision

Claude understands images better. Screenshots, whiteboard photos, mockups, charts.

In practice: you can take a photo of your handwritten notes and ask Claude to structure them. Or send a screenshot of a tool and say "build me the same thing." The jump in comprehension quality is real.

3. The "xhigh" mode

Until now, you could ask Claude to reason with "normal" or "high" effort. Opus 4.7 adds an intermediate level, "xhigh," between "high" and "max."

In practice: for complex tasks (analyzing a strategy, breaking down a workflow, planning an automation), you get better reasoning quality without waiting as long as max mode. The right balance between quality and speed.

4. Better at long tasks

Tasks that take multiple steps (building a complete site, configuring a Second Brain, automating a workflow end-to-end) work better. Claude loses the thread less often, chains steps more coherently, and handles tools better.

In practice: if you've ever felt like Claude "forgot" what it was doing in the middle of a long task, Opus 4.7 significantly improves this.

What doesn't change

  • Price. Still $20 USD/month for Claude Pro. No reason not to update.
  • Interface. Claude Code works exactly the same. Commands, tools, everything is identical.
  • Your existing projects. Everything you built with Opus 4.6 keeps working.

How to get it

If you're already using Claude Pro, you already have access to Opus 4.7. Nothing to do. Next time you open Claude Code or claude.ai, it's the new model responding.

If you're not using Claude yet, this is the best time to start. The model has never been this good, and the price hasn't moved.

And if you want to learn how to leverage all of this for your business, that's exactly what we do at RucheLab. 20-minute free call to identify what AI can change in your daily work.
